When you cycle Avian Oddity the cycling will go on the stack first and then both triggered abilities will trigger and you can put them on the stack in the order you wish. When you put the triggered abilities on the stack you will have to choose a target for each. There is no way to put the flying counter on the same creature that you blink and have it be there after all abilities have resolved.

If you order it so that the counter ability resolves first the creature will then be blinked and lose the counter. If you order it so that the blink resolves first the creature will be a new game object and no longer the target of the counter ability. Since the stack resolves first in last out, no matter what you will draw from the cycling after both triggers (and any other objects that may be put on the stack like etb/ltb abilities) resolve.

If I've got Escape Protocol on the battlefield and cycle Avian Oddity. In which order do the abilities resolve? As the Cycling enters the Stack first, the flicker ability of Escape Protocol will resolve first, right? Or is it after the Cycling resolved? If latter is the case, am I able to flicker the creature first, before putting the flying counter?

Why is Avian Oddity just a bird, rather than a bird horror, bird mutant, or bird nightmare? No normal bird looks like that, so I find it to be very odd that it does not have an additional creature type.
