I started Magic about four years ago and it has wonderful to learn about the strategy of the game gradually move beyond my kitchen table. When I first went to a tournament I didn't quite realize the difference between standard and modern. Trust me when I tell you that there is no more shocking introduction to competitive magic than being dealt 12,000,000,000,000,000 (twelve quadrillion) damage by Melira-Pod. However, as intimidating as that was, I fell in love with modern's card-pool and openness to brewing. Though it likely will never happen, it is my hope to someday create an off-the-wall brew that can be competitive at a Protour.

Stormchaser Mage could be good. Favorable winds pulls it out of bolt range and it gets pumped by your own spells
