@vortical42 Walking Balista is a great choice and I will have to trade and try and get a few. I found a HUGE weakness for this deck...Gideon of the Trials. His emblem really really hurts and ballista answers him. Maybe I'll stop being lazy and just update my results.

If you can afford it, Walking Ballista is amazing. Having a single card that can serve as a body on the board, removal, face damage, and a 0 cost activator for Aetherflux feels like cheating.

First tournament results for http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/mono-blue-aetherflux-combo/ are up if you want to take a look. tldr; Final results were 1-1-2 (w-l-d) for a 3rd place finish. Deck still needs some tweaking before I use it in a more serious tournament.

So it wasn't your idea...sheesh...lol
But Looks fun! I think it'd be fun for everyone in our playgroup to make a standard budget mono color deck.

I strongly recommend taking out the puzzleknots since this is more about aggro and no good reasons to need artifacts. Run at least one less monument since it's legendary. Probably up your fatal pushes to x4 and take out miasmic mummy for the glint-sleeve siphoners you have in maybeboard. Since you should still have some room I'd add more removal or some combat tricks like Supernatural Stamina. Good luck!

I totally forgot how much you're going to be making clue tokens which work very well with Metallic Rebuke. Brilliant!

Ohhhh I like this! Only thing I don't agree with is 25 lands seem too many especially since you have cost reduction in the monument and why Metallic Rebuke? I personally think you could really benefit from removing a land and the rebukes for some anthem effects for all those sweet sweet tokens. Looks like a blast though! And it's cheap! And doesn't seem to have anything that will get banned!

I'm actually toying around with a mill deck for Standard too and I think Open the Armory is great since it can tutor Fraying Sanity and aura removal like your Unquenchable Thirst. If you play this in an FNM please post results. Good luck!

@Woods115 Thank you for the suggestions. I'm going to playtest with Thing in the Ice Flip, if not mainboard, it's definitely in sideboard for aggro matches like you said. I probably won't use Dimensional Infiltrator since I like Rattlechains a little better and I don't need more in the 2 CMC creature slot. All your suggestions have been very helpful! If you think of anything else let me know. Thanks!

@Naj187 I really wanted to stay away from energy because it's everywhere and Solemnity might become a big thing. I desperately wish there was a cycle land cause I would run that before the tri land. Cut is cool but it's sorcery which is very counteractive to what I'm going for with this build, it's great for a prowess deck though. Think I could switch up the land base a little and splash white? Might make this an America deck

@Naj187 Also yeah I'd cut Flame Lash in a second if I had something better but I like it better than Open Fire so it'll have to do for now. At least I got Abrade which is pretty sexy so I'm gonna try it out.

Here's the thing about prowess, it's pretty bad with counterspells in my opinion, it's much better with more of a push with your spells, mine are much more defensive. So I know Rattlechains seems pretty random and lackluster in a deck without spirits, but flash is everything for this build and he's needed for the my 2 cmc creature slot. Oh you're not playing something that I need to get rid of? I'll flash this in, start my turn, swing, pass turn, repeat. Sorcery speed removal will really suffer against this. It's a strategy I love and I think it can be pretty sweet in standard. Considering going instead of though.

BELSNICKEL!!! Oh ya and I like your deck too. +1 for an "Office" reference :)

I'm sure instant speed isn't that important for you so I'd recommend Incendiary Flow over Open Fire plus exile can be a huge upside. I'd also run Shock over Magma Spray since shock can damage a player and help you reach those few extra points to get the kill. I built a Hazoret deck for a buddy and I found Key to the City was truly amazing, so I strongly recommend finding room for it if you like it. I'd only run 1 if any of the monument since you really don't need to reduce the cost of your creatures (plus it's legendary so 2 in your hand feels bad). I'd even take out Tormenting Voice since you don't run madness cards/graveyard stuff/instant/sorcery stuff. Although if you end up using Key to the City I'd run Fiery Temper and maybe Incorrigible Youths. If you find yourself against bigger creatures Lightning Axe might be great sideboard. Good luck!

I think your creatures are just okay since you'll probably struggle to stay alive against quick aggro and they'll mill at least a little and help block but a much better option IMO is Thing in the Ice Flip. Definitely put in at least 1-2 Torrential Gearhulk since you're going very control style. Switch Catalog for Supreme Will as soon as it's released cause I think that's just 100% better. I like the deck! Good luck!
