Zedru the Greathearted and Auras
Asked by gavriel1136 4 years ago
According to the rules, an Aura enters the field under my control, regardless of who owns the enchanted permanent, so it doesn't count towards Zedruu's effect when it ETBs. So, if I attach an Aura to any permanent, can I use Zedruu's effect to gift it to my opponent -even if nothing actually changes on the field- and have it count towards the upkeep trigger?

Just as Rhadamanthus said, Zedruu's ability works the way you described normally, except for when there is a restriction on the aura card itself (namely that it must enchant a permanent/creature/whatever YOU control)

Remember to use double square brackets around a card's name to link it so you can make sure everyone understands what's going on in your question: Zedruu the Greathearted
Yes, that's how it works. If you give control of an aura to an opponent, then it's now a permanent you own but they control. Zeddru's ability will count it.
One thing to watch out for: if an aura's enchant ability is something like "enchant permanent you control" then changing the controller of the aura to someone else will make it fall off. If the aura and permanent aren't controlled by the same player then the permanent won't be a legal object for the "enchant permanent you control" ability.
