Yidris and storm

Asked by Will361405 4 years ago

If I cast a spell with storm from my hand after triggering Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder and cascading happens from that storn spell will the spell I cascade into count towards storm?

No, it won't count.

Cascade triggers off of casting your storm spell. Anything you cast after it, including the spell you cascade into, is cast after your storm spell, even though it will resolve first. The storm ability only counts spells cast before your storm spell in a given turn.

If, however, you cascade into a storm spell, that will count the spell that cascaded into it.

No, the spell you cascade into won't count towards the storm count of the first spell. The storm trigger counts each spell cast before the spell with storm (you can see this in the reminder text of Flusterstorm , etc.). In your example the spell you cascade into is being cast after the spell with storm. It won't increase the count for that trigger.
