When i tapped the pyromancer to inflict damage to a creature, does the deathtouch applies?

I have Gorgon Flail equipped with Prodigal Pyromancer , when i tap the pyromancer to inflict damage to a creature, does the deathtouch apply? 'Coz I was confused by this video,

It will. Like the reminder text of Gorgon Flail says, any amount of damage dealt by a creature with deathtouch will be considered lethal damage on a creature it damages (not just combat damage).

What part of the video were you confused by?

the deathtouch rule says .... "702.2b. Any nonzero amount of COMBAT DAMAGE assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch is considered to be lethal damage, regardless of that creatures toughness."

704.5h If a creature has toughness greater than 0, and its been dealt damage by a source with deathtouch since the last time state-based actions were checked, that creature is destroyed. Regeneration can replace this event.

So even though its not from combat damage it will be destroyed?

It will be destroyed the next time state-based actions are checked (right before a player would receive priority to perform actions). The game will see a creature with a non-zero amount of damage marked on it from a creature with deathtouch, and destroy it.

@jotjot: Rule 702.2b applies to damage distribution in combat. This allows a creature with death touch (say Greater Basilisk ) to assign only 1 damage to a creature before moving on to assign damage to the next attacking or blocking creature, or to the player if a creature has deathtouch and trample.

First, Prodigal Pyromancer is the one being equipped by Gorgon Flail .

Second, deathtouch is a static ability that applies to all damage dealt by the source. The damage does not need to be combat damage.

Sir Epochalyptik, so i don't need to to follow the ruling for deathtouch stating "Any nonzero amount of COMBAT DAMAGE assigned to a creature by a source with deathtouch ...(etc.)". May I know the difference between a combat damage to a noncombat damage?

Combat damage is damage done by creatures in the combat damage step (or first strike combat damage step).

The two rules for deathtouch aren't mutually exclusive; you follow both of them. If your sorcerer blocks a creature and deals damage to it durring the combat damage step, the creature will die. If the sorcerer just uses his activated ability to deal the damage, the creature will die as well.

Combat damage is only damage assigned and dealt by attacking and blocking creatures during combat damage steps. Damage dealt by spells or abilities is never combat damage.

It's not that you aren't following 702.2b. 702.2b just isn't applicable to this scenario because we aren't dealing with combat damage. Instead, we defer to rule 702.2c:

702.2c A creature with toughness greater than 0 that's been dealt damage by a source with deathtouch since the last time state-based actions were checked is destroyed as a state-based action. See rule 704.
