What happens when you clone S.N.O.T.?
Asked by Grayv 6 years ago
Do you clone the current version of S.N.O.T. with enhanced strength due to combining or the base creature (/).In other words, I have a doubled version so it is a 4/4 on the battlefield. I cast Clone so does it enter as a new 1/1 or a new 4/4?

Another important note though is this:
108.2b Tokens arent considered cardseven a card-sized game supplement that represents a token isnt considered a card for rules purposes.
If you try to copy a S.N.O.T. via something like Cackling Counterpart, the token is not a card, which according to the oracle text, is what S.N.O.T. is looking for. A token copy would either enter as an independent 0/0, or stuck to your existing S.N.O.T., contributing nothing to it, as it's not a card.

The oracle text of S.N.O.T. reads "S.N.O.T.s power and toughness are each equal to the square of the number of cards named S.N.O.T. stuck together to form it."
Copy effects copy exactly what is printed on the card. A non-unset example would be something like Crusader of Odric. If I copy your crusader, mine has p/t based on how many creatures I have, it does not have the same exact p/t as yours did.
To apply this to the instance of S.N.O.T., this starts to depend on how you copied it. A Clone of it would enter as a 1/1, assuming you let it enter independently. Here's the fun bit though, from a Ruling on Clone:
This means that if you cast a Clone, selecting S.N.O.T. as the creature you're copying, S.N.O.T.'s "as this enters the battlefield" effect will function, and you can simply "stick" your clone to your existing S.N.O.T.s!
