Thing in the ice vs intrepid hero

Asked by Johnthomis 6 years ago

When thing in the ice flips lets say i have an intrepid hero on the field. The final instant or sorcery is cast and the flip happens. Obviously I can't tap the intrepid hero while thing in the ice is still thing in the ice because ot does not have a power of 4. But can I tap it and destroy the awoken hotter before it is returned to my hand?

P.s. sorry for not linking the card names. In not sure how to do itm.

Thing in the Ice  Flip

Intrepid Hero

Awoken Horror  Flip

You link using double brackets. Yes, the ability to return all non-horror creatures to their owner's hand goes on the stack and can be responded to.

Does it still send all creatures back to their owners hands then? Or would the intrepid hero interrupt and kill ot before the activation sending all non horrors back to their owners hands?

The trigger to send all non-horror creatures to their owner's hands will go on the stack as soon as TitI flips into Awoken Horror. You can then respond to the trigger by killing Awoken Horror, however in MtG abilities exist independently of their sources and the bounce will still resolve even though the source of the ability will have left the battlefield.
