Ratchet Bomb and Tokens
Asked by Quadsimotto 10 years ago
Does Ratchet Bomb leave behind tokens? Being that they have no cmc?

So Armada Wurm ? would that be considered a copy of a card? It doesn't specifically state as much. Just wondering. And what brought this about is saw a combo posted about Curse of the Swine with Ratchet Bomb .

No. Armada Wurm 's token is a regular 0 CMC token. Only tokens created by cards that say "put a token onto the battlefield that's a copy of..." are trated to have identical CMC to the original.

An example of a card that makes a token copy would be Pack Rat or Cackling Counterpart .

Tokens that are not copies of other regular creatures have 0 CMC, so Ratchet Bomb blown with no counters on it will destroy them all. However, if a token is a copy of some other card (like Cackling Counterpart tokens), it inherits the original's CMC.
