Question about combat...

Sorry for the description, not sure exactly how to shortly explain the question.

What happens if an attacking creature stops being a creature during combat phase??

Then that permanent is removed from combat and is no longer attacking.

Just what I wanted to hear. Follow-up question, say I blocked with creatures, then mine became no longer creatures, theirs stay blocked correct??

Once an attacker becomes blocked, it stays that way for the remainder of combat, regardless of what happens to the creature blocking it.

If you have specific cards in mind for what you're trying to do, it helps to actually talk about them in the question.

In the second scenario, how would trample or Lifelink work with my opponents attacking creatures, as I understand it, they are now dealing no damage, right??

Normally a blocked attacker has to assign all its combat damage to the creatures blocking it. If there are no creatures actually blocking it when it's time to assign damage, then no damage can be assigned. Lifelink won't give any life to the attacking creature's controller.

However, trample changes the rules of combat damage assignment. A blocked attacker with trample only has to assign at least lethal damage to the blocking creatures, and the rest goes to the defending player. If there are no creatures actually blocking an attacker with trample then all of its damage gets assigned to the defending player.
