Playing B/G aristocrats into a boardwipe...

Asked by insertcleverid 8 years ago

I can stack the drain triggers anyway I want but I need to confirm I'm doing the math right for optimal effect. Say I have 3 Zulaport Cutthroats and 4 other random dorks when the wipe comes.

I stack my triggers so first the 3 each cutthroats see all 4 other dorks die for 12 triggers. Next, the 3 cutthroats have 3 triggers when the first one goes, then 2 for the next and finally 1 last one for a total of 18 total drain triggers. Is that correct?

Thanks

You'll get 21 triggers. You have 3 Zulaport Cutthroats + 4 Gravecrawlers totaling 7 creatures. When they all die to a Supreme Verdict, all 3 ZC's see all 7 creatures dying, and all trigger 7 times totaling 21 individual triggers.

The point is that the creatures all die simultaneously, not in any particular order. Because "leaves the battlefield" abilities ("dies" is a special kind of LTB) use information from the last moment an object was on the battlefield, things that leave at the same time can trigger each other.
