Persist + Ashes of the Abhorrent

If I have an Ashes out, and a creature with persist dies, does it still come back?

Ashes of the Abhorrent
Persist is a triggered ability (these have "when," "whenever," or "at" in the ability text). Ashes of the Abhorrent prevents casting of spells (such as with flashback or aftermath) or activating abilities (such as on Reassembling Skeleton ) from the graveyard. It doesn't prevent triggered abilities from working.
In short, the creature with persist will still come back, so long as it didn't have a -1/-1 counter on it when it died. Undying works the same way.
