Morph shuffle?

Asked by proterran98 4 years ago

I have 3 up face morphs, one that has an ability that triggers when I do combat damage, one that triggers an ability when it flips up and a lastly just a 4/4 morph.

I flip up Weaver of Lies and flip the 3 mentioned morph creatures face down. Obviously it benefits me for my opponent to not know which one is a combat triggered creature, a flip triggered creature and a vanilla 4/4. Am I allowed to shuffle them on the playing field to keep my opponent from knowing? Or do they have to stay where they are and essentially be known creatures that happen to be face down?

You cannot shuffle around your Morph creatures.

707.6. If you control multiple face-down spells or face-down permanents, you must ensure at all times that your face-down spells and permanents can be easily differentiated from each other. This includes, but is not limited to, knowing the order spells were cast, the order that face-down permanents entered the battlefield, which creature attacked last turn, and any other differences between face-down spells or permanents. Common methods for distinguishing between face-down objects include using counters or dice to mark the different objects, or clearly placing those objects in order on the table

Notably, Ghastly Conscription and Jeskai Infiltrator specifically instruct you to shuffle the face-down cards so that your opponents don't know which is which, as you're not allowed to do that after they're already on the battlefield.
