Ghastly Conscription

Sorcery

Exile all creature cards from target player's graveyard in a face-down pile, shuffle that pile, then manifest those cards. (To manifest a card, put it onto the battlefield face down as a 2/2 creature. Turn it face up at any time for its mana cost if it's a creature card.)

Ghastly Conscription Discussion

BMHKain on Help wanted for Kadena Morph/Manifest... ...

Apologies for the previous dupli-comment. The server was a bit off at the time...

Well, as an update to the deck: at least we can say Volrath, the Shapestealer is out, & Ezuri 2.0 will be staying for a very long while...

Also, being able to BOUNCE Mantfests to your hand w/ Temur Sabertooth , Words of Wind , even Scroll of Fate allows you a choice for Manifestation. While killing the ones you DON'T own via Thieving Amalgam is like a perfect vengeance; even cards like Qarsi Deceiver , Temur War Shaman , Whisperwood Elemental , even Ghastly Conscription , Ethereal Ambush , & even Write into Being .

Also adding Cloudform , We have an amount of 115 cards in so far; or 114 if nobody wants me adding such a card. From there, we have 2 things left; the 3rd Question about what helps Creatures; Morphs/Megamorphs/Manifest all apply to these Bylaws. & since all start as Faceless 2/2 Colorless Face-Down Token Creatures, the question now is: In Colors, what would be good for both , cards, & those w/ eith 2 Power and/or 2 Toughness, or lower even?

From there it's the first, & last question: What to Cut?!

I'll proceed in removing some of these things; they've been established anyway. :)

So, what cards that can support basically any Morphs/Megamorphs/Manifests (Colorless 2/2 Face Down Tokens.) can help big here?

I'm done for now; I'll just remove some things as they're accomplished...

Notably, Ghastly Conscription and Jeskai Infiltrator specifically instruct you to shuffle the face-down cards so that your opponents don't know which is which, as you're not allowed to do that after they're already on the battlefield.

Thanks for the feedback,

While Ghastly Conscription is a more expensive card to play, I've never run into an issue with mana to play it. From the several games I played with an incomplete version of the deck I've still managed to ramp enough where it isn't an issue. So sure they can try to RIP, but the deck has enough answers to either counter or remove RIP.

I agree that Vesuvan Shapeshifter isn't stax Brine Elemental is and he's in the deck to interact together locking down the board preventing players from untapping.

I do agree card draw could maybe be potentially better and am entertaining the idea of cutting Aphetto Runecaster for a Rhystic Study or Mystic Remora

As for instant interaction my commander doesn't necessarily need to be on the board for me to make use of the the morph abilities. She simply allows me to cast one more spell for free. I'd still be able to morph at instant speed to counter spells, but perhaps you can elaborate further on what you mean?

There's a reason I don't run board wipes in the deck. It generally causes more harm to my field than good, while the deck can recover quick enough in the instances of a board wipe I opt not to run it as I have more than enough responses to counter what may potentially be a threat. Other than the rift, I run Bane of the Living .

Not sure how in depth you looked it over, but there is definitely a method to my madness. :D Most of the deck has a lot of interaction, but if you could provide some card suggestions of what you would constitute as generically good cards I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks

Kogarashi on Deadeye navigator and manifest?

Yes, you would be able to use the flicker ability.

What happens is that first the flicker ability on Deadeye Navigator's soulbond partner (the manifested creature) moves that permanent to exile. Because cards are exiled face-up unless specifically instructed not to, and the flicker ability doesn't say "exile face-down," the manifested card is face-up in exile. The flicker ability then goes to move that card (still face-up) back to the battlefield.

So if it's a creature that was manifested (which it would be since Ghastly Conscription only affects creature cards), it would return to the battlefield face-up. You could then pair it up with the Navigator again if you so chose (especially if you want to flicker the Navigator so you can pair it with another manifested creature).

If it's a different card that was manifested, it depends on whether or not that type of card can "enter the battlefield." Other permanent cards, like planeswalkers and enchantments, have no trouble entering the battlefield, though they couldn't pair with the Navigator anymore since soulbond only works for creatures. Planeswalkers get their starting loyalty counters when entering the battlefield, so you don't even lose them due to this, and auras entering the battlefield can be attached to creatures with hexproof or shroud.

Sorceries and Instants, however, can't enter the battlefield, and thus remain in their previous zone (exile) instead. So don't do this with a manifested instant or sorcery.

Playing with the manifest machinic is not usually my style so I don’t know how I completely works.

How would manifest work in this situation?

Assuming you have a creature card come into play as a manifest creature with something like Ghastly Conscription while having Deadeye Navigator already in play

Would you be able to use the flicker ability?

If so, would the manifest come back as a manifest creature, comeback as the creature card it is, or something else?

hydrothermia on My messy deck

Welcome to Tapped Out!

I think messy is an understatement. (lol) This is just everywhere, you need to find some form of winning condition outside of just creature board presence.

Arashin War Beast, Ghastly Conscription and Wildcall can be cut here, you really aren't relying on Morph cards for this.

You have some pieces here that can turn this into a much smoother deck. I'd suggest you get more Elvish Mystics, Arbor Elf, Elves of Deep Shadow, Grand Warlord Radha, Radha, Heir to Keld and Zhur-Taa Druids or Whisperer of the Wilds for quick mana ramp. I'd also keep Blisterpod, Call the Scions and Terrarion but have 3-4 copies of all these cards.

This is just a start, more things need to be done, but I can put only so much on each comment.
