"Lose life" effect with Soulfire Grand Master

Hello!I'm totally tapped out, mmkay?
I have 20 life, mmkay?I have Soulfire Grand Master in play, mmkay?I cast Thoughtseize and buy it back with Soulfire Grand Master's second ability, mmkay?
Does my life total change as 20 - 2 ("You lose 2 life.") + 2 ("Instant and sorcery spells you control have lifelink.") = 20?
Any help, mmkay?
You'll have no issue regarding the buyback mechanic Soulfire Grand Master.
But "An instant or sorcery spell with lifelink causes its controller to gain life only if its the source of any damage thats dealt. An instant or sorcery spell with lifelink that causes another source to deal damage wont cause its controller to gain life."
Thoughtseize don't deal any damage, it instruct you to lose 2 life.
Loss of life isn't the same as damage.

Lifelink only works with damage being dealt by a source. Though dealing damage to a player usually causes loss of life, they aren't the same thing. You end up at 18 in your example.

No. Lifelink applies to damage. Loss of life is not damage.
