is there a limit to a creatures power and toughness?

my friend has a blue white enchantment deck and he has the card Balduvian Shaman and after he gets his Castle out he uses his Balduvian Shaman to change the text of it from "untapped creatures you control get +0/+2" to " untapped creatures you control get +9000/9000" I want to know, is that even legal?

There is no upper limit to the power or toughness of creatures. A creature can be 1 Billion/1 Billion if you can get it that high. (see: Quillspike + Devoted Druid)

However, the interaction you just listed does NOT work because Balduvian Shaman only allows you to change instances of color words in a card's text. The color words in magic are white, blue, black, red, and green. With Balduvian Shaman you could change all instances of "red" in a card's text to "black," but you cannot change +0/+2 to +9000/+9000.

Technically, there's no limit (high or low, even) but you can't use "infinite" and having less than 1 toughness typically causes a creature to be put into a graveyard.
