Bouncing Sensei's Top

I'm working through an artifact-based decklist and it has Sensei's Divining Top and Master Transmuter in it. I was just playtesting it and had both out and ended up with this question.
If I activate the top's second ability and activate the Transmuter's ability in response, bouncing the top, would I still have to put the top on top of my library?

You would not have to put it on TOP of your library (heh, I made a funny). The ability only looks for the Top on the battlefield (and only the object that activated the ability). There is nothing in the ability that says that the Top NEEDS to be there to go on top of your library (i.e. a target or intervening if clause). Even if you were to put the Top back into play with the Transmuter activation, the Top is now a new object and is completely unrelated to the ability still on the stack.
