Arcades Defender Infect

Using Arcades, the Strategist as my commander in an EDH deck. I wanted to know if I could pull a cheesy combo using a Tree of Redemption and enchant it with Corrupted Conscience if the infect will deal damage using combat damage from the Arcades ability or does it have to be dealt by the cards power?

infect works whenever the creature deals damage, regardless of how the damage is dealt or how its calculated. it doesn't even have to be combat damage, therefore is not tied strictly to a creatures power. infect only cares that damage is being dealt. a creature with defender will deal infect damage equal to its toughness when Arcades, the Strategist is in play.
