Solid uncommon. Not too familiar with the white weenie/devotion strategy but this seems to fit.

Or would the second player to play one not benefit at all. The card answers my question actually

It was answered on the mothership that if both players have an archetype, neither player's creatures have the ability it grants.

Static Continuous effects are applied in timestamp order. Basically whichever one enters last "wins."

Rule 613 of the comprehensive rules covers Continuous effects, layers and gives a variety of examples.

More specifically 613.8. One continuous effect can override another. Sometimes the results of one effect determine whether another effect applies or what another effect does.

Or in this case, the first continuous effect of your copy gets cancelled our by the second continuous effect of your opponents copy

Nope, MindAblaze!, because the archetypes say "and can't have or gain ~". So it's basically a case of everybody loses. (Though for first strike, everything having it is the same as nothing.)

Yeah, my second point covers that.

It's like casting Jump on your creature and then equipping Magebane Armor to it. The second effect cancels out the first...so in the case of the Archetype both cards cancel each others first strike out. We're on the same page.

I like the card, I think Orzhov aggro is pretty solid right now and this either, adds to it or a white weenies build. really nice.

I think I'd like to try this guy out in Orzhov Humans.

Also I bet this card looks super rad in foil.

I'm necroing to ask a question. Would it matter if the Archetypes had the "lose and can't have or gain" part first rather then second? If it said "all creatures you control have x" after, would all creatures then have it if both you and your opponent had one?

I'm just trying to figure out why "they don't" trumps "they do."
