An Odd New Trivial Trend?

Now this is a COMPLETELY TRIVIAL thing. But it is something I noticed and am really curious about.
KTK and C14 both have one card that has a slightly larger image base then the rest. In other words, a smaller black border.
The first card in these two sets by collectors number have a one pixel on both the X and Y axis black border that is smaller then the rest of the cards. Interestingly, the two cards have one more pixel on the y axis then the rest.
I first noticed this when I was adding in KTK and wondered exactly why Abzan Battle Priest was always making my life difficult by being blurry all the time? It was because the image, through the technique that I crop, was slightly larger than the sweet spot conditions this site has.
The easiest way to see this would be to look at two cards back to back and flip between the two rapidly to see the differences. I even went as far as to make flashy gifs for you to see the difference~ (it only took me 20 seconds to make them).
Now it seems that WotC has some sort of automatic cropping system that the images adhere to if they get too large (I made this assumption from staring at the top corners of the cards for a while), and just forgot the bottom part. But then, why only the first card in the collectors' number? Am curious.

I should mention that these are from the WotC card image database, hence why I'm curious. You don't normally find a blatant pattern in a company created item. Though only time will tell in Fate Reforged if this pattern continues.

probably an error, but.. did you find anything in m15? try searching white first. I know it seems crazy, but there could be a paaternnn

There is no card image database for M15 anymore. They deleted it for some reason.

They deleted it the moment everything went onto gatherer. So unless they can see they can Dig Through Time , I hardly doubt this is the case.

I thought it was weird that that deleted the Card Image Gallery for M15, mostly because I find it easier to look through a set with that than Gatherer.
It's little things like this that drive me crazy.

I think it was because WotC LOVED their new visual spoiler in the gatherer pages so much that they thought that they could just remove the M15 card image database from their database. My guess that the only reason why they didn't in KTK was because they were given too much flak about it. Only time will tell.
An error is the most likely scenario, if it weren't for the utter preciseness of the way the error was duplicated.
