Looking to play cEDH online? Let's set up some games.

So a little while back SynergyBuild turned me on to Untap.in for playing magic online for the purposes of play testing. And this is a viable option to play the game, it's pretty functional, and any player can have access to any card to add to a list. This was all great and something I was looking for, so I've taken to playing games on Untap mostly every day for the last week or two.

But there are some issues. For me, it mostly comes down to competitiveness and the quality of skill you see from the players who play on Untap. Quite frankly, they just aren't very good, they are prone to spite plays, prone to rage quitting, and just the general human nonsense humans do. Since my purpose is to try to gauge new ideas, concepts, and tactics in competitive settings, Untap hasn't quite worked out for the purpose I wanted it to serve.

All of which got me to thinking. How about trying to organize games with members of the TappedOut Community? I've already played some games with Synergy, DeinoStinkus, IronWar, and oo7x7oo. The games with other TappedOut users have generally been quite a bit more enjoyable as well as slightly more competitive. I figure more players might enjoy a chance to engage actively with the community in gaming and hone their skills in a social setting at a time when social engagements are difficult to manage.

So for those looking to play magic with the community I offer up the suggestion to use the TappedOut community and the TappedOut platform as a means of organizing gaming sessions for mtg on Untap. Any format that you prefer is available! I'm personally a huge fan of cEDH and will generally always be up to game with interested parties. If you're looking to get your game on, share your knowledge and experience, and learn a thing or two from fellow community members this is an ideal way to go about it while enjoying playing the game we all love, MTG.

If you're interested in playing comment here and post what formats you're interested in and times you're generally available. Then we can begin the process of organizing groups of players and setting up times to play matches.

I think you're usually most available in the morning times, U.S., too if I'm not mistaken.

I do indeed know this. Me, I'm usually available in the evening, US time, from about 6pm central to midnight or later. My sleep hours vary though, so it's possible for me to game at any point in time providing I don't have other obligations.

This is a great idea! I would love to join, but it is very hard for me to get time for anything I can't just put on pause nowadays without blocking out the time a week in advance.

You should investigate using Tabletop Simulator on Steam. TTS costs money to purchase, but I can attest it is a working platform for playing MTG over the internet. You also have the convenience of hitting up online steam friends for games instead of having to post on forums every time you wish to play. TTS has huge versatility if you wish to play board games like Root or Spirit Island or even something more complex like Warhammer 40k. My playgroup all picked up copies of TTS and I can't speak highly enough of it for WH40K, but it works great for MTG too.

I know people also use cockatrice for cedh, but as I'm aware people can cheat easily on the client, and the player base has a lot of griefers. The benefit of cockatrice is the already existing cedh community, it has lots of bleed over from the cedh subreddit.

As long as you can schedule a time, I’m sure people would be happy to accommodate you. That’s exactly what this thread is for! Finding times where you and other folks are capable of playing, be it a one time deal or a regular basis.
