Can this deck cut it in a competitive environment?

Hi guys,

I've been playing magic casually for a while now, but I'm considering getting into modern. I've looked at a lot of decklists, and so far hatebears has been my favorite. Can B/W hatebears cut it in a competitive environment? I want to build a fairly cheap online deck (Less than 400 tickets). Does anyone have any suggestions for the deck, or alternate options?

I think you're too heavy on the artifact hate in the sideboard. Other than that it looks decent.

I feel like B/W hatebears is an upcoming deck in the format. It recently topped a decent sized event if you can find the list. It looks good.

That wasnt hatebears cdbowlin. That was Black white Death and Taxes with a discard package shoved into it.

If your going to run the discard package, supermill, I highly recommend you dont run more than 2-3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and 0 Vryn Wingmare. I garentee you are not going to want to cast a 3 cmc Thoughtseize, ever. =n.n=

For reference, Nom nom nom Fatebears is hatebears. Quantum Cat: Schrodinger's Revenge is my version of Death and taxes.

Sorry for the confusion, I consider those basically the same deck.

cdbowlin, Much to my dismay and others... So does everyone else.. THEY ARE NOT.

One capitalizes on ETB effects to gain value and has a far greater reach on the game.. The other Capitalizes on your opponents making mistakes is is just a big dumb creature deck out-classed by Scrub Rhino, Tasigur, Gourgler, Fish, and obviously goyf..

The strength in DnT is also in the evasion of its flying beats. Death and taxes gets shut down by a Torpor Orb.. Hatebears gets shut down by.. well just about the entire current meta.

(If you look at the recent comments on Hatebears Mtgsalv Primer vs Death and Taxes Mtgsalv Primer, you will see that HB comments are few and far between (Low popularity); while DnT is alive with comments almost every hour. (High popularity)

The same goes for checking out the jund primer.. Its even more active. With just that you can see which is currently successful. Yet all it takes to nerf DnT is a single, resolved Torpor Orb and its right back to playing dumb creatures that are much smaller.. yet they still have evasion. The weakest aspect of hatebears at this moment.

/rant complete.
