Whats concidered "Budget" for a deck?

Is it under $100.00? Is it under $200.00?
I tagged a $75 deck as Budget but after I updated a few lands it took it up to >$150. Is it still in the Budget range?
It's pretty subjective.
Some people consider it a budget deck if it's under $200 I know some that don't consider it budget until it's below $50.
It's sort of like asking what's the best color in magic. You're not getting the same answer from everyone.
Even if the answers are $118.47 and black respectively.

It really depends on the format, like under $200 for modern but for cEDH it could be more like $2000.

Got it. I only build modern (here at least). I'll tag them Budget if less then $150.

Depends on format and meta. For example in a modern group playing tier one decks, $500 could be called budget. In any legacy group $500 is budget. In standard between $50 and $150 depending on the meta there. In commander I'd say sub $200 could be called budget

I've seen $5000 decks tagged budget, so I don't even pay attention to that tag anymore. It's meaningless.

If the deck has been optimized to be easier on your wallet, it's budget, I say.

It's more of a personal evaluation really. If you have the means to make a $4000 deck but make a $500 deck then in a way you are making a budget deck as you are making a deck worth a fraction of what you are able to allocate. Similarly if you can only afford to make a $150 deck, that isn't really budget as that is the maximum amount of money you can spend. If with that in mind you create a deck for $100 then that is budget as it is under the money you have allocated for the task and is saving you money.
