Pro Tour: Oath of the Gatewatch Discussion

The Pro Tour has started! You can go watch it at twitch.tv/magic or on their YouTube stream! Friday and Saturday are 3 rounds of OGW-OGW-BFZ draft, followed by 5 rounds of Modern Constructed. Then Sunday is the cut to the Top 8 where the players will play in Best-of-5 matches to determine the Pro Tour Champion!
So let's discuss what's going on down in Atlanta, GA!
canterlotguardian - Did you qualify for it? Or do you want to go as a spectator?

I was going to go as a spectator. I didn't make it out to the PTQ my LGS had. Maybe try to do some trading and EDH side events (or just play casually).

IIRC, there are no side events at the PT for spectators. But I'm sure there would be someone in the building to trade with or play EDH with.

I think wizards really needs to make some serious decisions about where they want this format to go. I don't get how cards they have banned in modern are still banned. Look at how powerful these new eldrazi are.. Is a turn 4 Jace, the Mind Sculptor really going to matter when you're going to be getting bashed in the face for 15 on turn 3? I mean jesus christ seriously.. It really angers me. They completely neutered the format.. Magic just isn't magic anymore. Go watch videos from 1995. Each color was well balanced, and if you wanted to play control, the power level was there to be competitive.
They wanted to diversify the format by banning Twin? Oh that really worked out great for you wizards the top 6 decks of the top 8 are Eldrazi. They completely banned all the control cards a control player could use to make a competitive control deck, and force this Eldrazi shit on us. I mean.. How does the magic of today take any skill or talent? It's just playing an Eye of Ugin Turn 1 and dropping a 10/10, annihilator a million, protection from everything on turn 2.

Wait. The Pro Tour is in Atlanta? God damn it. I live like ten minutes away from there. I could have gone... -goes and cries in a corner-
