Scalding Tarn

I went to SCG Detroit and they had a "heavily played" scalding tarn for 50$ so I picked it up and it's not even really bad it's still sleeve playable with a little bit of white on the image. Was this a good pickup besides the fact I needed one?

The cheapest I saw on TCGPlayer was $55.50 plus $1.00 shipping for a moderately played Scalding Tarn . I'd say you did alright.
You may also want to check EBay for the 'or best offer' deals on expensive cards. I picked up a NM Italian Karakas for $85 and a MP Savannah for $54 that way.

Great investment! A $50 Scalding Tarn is great! No matter what condition.

It's a great deal in the current market if you really needed one and don't care about condition. It may end up being a poor long-term investment if they reprint fetches in the next block or two.
