I actually was able to conceive two new versions of Bolas, so here is my first version:

Nicol Bolas, the Dark Lord Show

Bolas's first ability is modeled after Prophetic Bolt, representing his capacity for careful planning and scheming. His second ability represents him eliminating a specific threat, and acquiring knowledge from the experience. His final ability represents him utterly destroying all who oppose him, which is likely to be used as a last resort, because it also destroys his allies.

Here is my second version:

Nicol Bolas, Tyrant of Terror Show

In this version, Bolas's first ability represents him discarding several complex schemes to simply directly damage his adversaries. His second ability is him seizing control of something, as he is so fond of doing. His final ability represents him destroying his opponents in a slow and sinister manner, gradually and subtly breaking them down, rather than annihilating them in a grand and dramatic fashion.
