Help Updating Old Deck

So I am coming back to magic and wanted to see about getting some ideas for updating this deck with any of the newer cards out. I have been away for about two years. Just casual fun play, nothing competitive. Will take combo ideas as well.

Mizzix of the Izmagnus - Whilst may not have as much power as it would as a commander, Mizzix will still provide great benefits in reducing the casting cost of all of those spells.
The Locust God - When drawing all of those cards, it's nice to have yourself some blockers or additional damage, Locust God provides some decent defenses whilst also self-recurring, preventing itself from staying dead for too long.
Sphinx of the Final Word - Your deck cant pop off if it isn't allowed to do so, this helps provide some defenses for your onslaught of spell-slinging.
There's also the whole list of extra turn cards if you wish to abuse them with Melek, use them only at the risk of losing friends.
