Cutting the Strip Mine —March 13, 2019

I feel this warrants an update since I went back and forth for a while on whether it was worth keeping in. Obviously by the title, it can be assumed I cut it, and I did. My reasoning was that I don't run a way, other than Excavator, to get it back. Therefore, more often than not it served as just a Stone Rain rather than a constant way to keep people down on resources. Additionally, this isn't really the deck that wants to follow that gameplan, instead opting to advance my own mana presence and actively reach a state where I can assemble a game winning combo.

Hey, really nice deck dude :) Savage Summoning is a must have in Omnath to prevent your mana pool from being emptied if Omnath is getting killed

Thank you for the compliment! I appreciate it.

While I agree that Savage Summoning would be a good way to keep the mana from emptying, it isn't exactly what the deck is trying to do. I usually only cast Omnath if I either have nothing else to do, or if I'm going to use it as a way to draw a ton of cards.

Would Defense Grid be good instant protection here, or do all the universal mama doublers in your deck make it too easy to pay for?
