That sounds like a really good thing!

May I recommend - you have to re-apply every 3 months?

That way you don't get out of date 'experts'. But what would 'registering' be?

yeah, I think stamping a date and nuking it every 3 months just to make sure its fresh, or unsetting people who haven't been around for 3 months.

so yeah, I guess what I'm asking is, can we orient the current hub system around the archetypes you are all compiling.

ChiefBell says... #4

It's possible - though worth noting that big archetypes change often. Collected Company for example is a brand new one.

Also worth noting, is WotC's ability to push an archetype off the face of the earth - like they did with Pod.

Other than that, this would actually be an awesome feature!

well aside from just adding them as new hubs, whats missing? can't you do that, chief?

June 6, 2015 4:43 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #7

I do not believe I can add hubs?

added. if anyone has more thoughts on why hubs might not work for these archetypes, or what changes would need to be made, please keep the discussion going.

These comments are hilarious :)

Anyways, yeaGO, that's awesome! But would it be a list of ALL the people who are knowledgeable in a certain archetype? Because seeing the number of people on this site, that would quickly reach into the hundreds. Maybe top 100 users only? I think we need some criteria.

June 6, 2015 5:06 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #10

It would need to be looked at.

I can do hubs now. I'll look into it later tonight.

yeaGO says... #11

i can start out with top 100-250 only i guess, but if its more inclusive than more people can help out.

it would be kind of neat to set up the hub pages as a kind of "clinic" for people seeking deck help, and "experts" could just be people who are subscribed and follow those hubs.

June 6, 2015 5:08 p.m.

ChiefBell says... #12

Yeah. Sounds so, so good. Making the hub pages centres for help.

June 6, 2015 5:10 p.m.

I should also add that we should make sure that people are ok with putting their name up. Some people might find it annoying to get a deck help request every 20 minutes.

I'd be fine helping with whatever, I find tracking down people that want help to be the biggest issue. I know there's probably a few others that feel the same way I do, so maybe an all encompassing "modern" thing as well as individual archetypes. It would also give people with the more interesting and borderline competitive home-brews a place to go.

Two birds, one stone.

Anyone listed at the top of the modern format primer will be able to give generic modern advice if asked. Most of us here can, probably.

We would have this for standard and modern I assume? What about legacy? How could we differentiate the standard RDW players from the modern? I see a problem here.

June 6, 2015 9:54 p.m.

Standard would be hard because of the rotation. Different archetypes rise and fall much quicker than eternal formats, and there's so many formats that it just seems unnecessary. Legacy would be fine, but there's a much smaller player base which would make it hard to find a specialist for every archetype. EDH there are no archetypes really. Other formats have similar problems.

If there's to be a Collected Company esque heading, I could go for that one as well. I was all about that pod, have been dabbling with the CC deck myself, and have access to a friend who plays the CC deck religiously (non-TO user)

June 7, 2015 12:21 a.m.

Would it be CoCo elves or Melira Podless pod?

Idk if turbo fog is good enough to be put here and I also don't know anyone who would be put in the category lol.

We could start a Standard after BFZ, or now. No use doing it after Origins but before BFZ. Would have to be maintained fairly often though.

I'd be happy to do Storm, Play that deck a decent amount.

Also working on trading into Affinity but that decks nuts so I may take a while.
