Modern FNM(FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!) —Dec. 30, 2017
Finally we got modern FNM locally, i played the stomp again. This time it was only 10 heads and i squeaked in to top4 and then split in the finals. Today i wanted to try finks over burn and i feel i should win that match and Kitchen Finks let me down, my finks you going to become Feed the Clans again.
Rnd 1 I faced Burn and went 1-2. I hate blaming this match lose to me being locked out of lands on game 3 with basically winning cards in hand and couldnt cast them, but i am going to blame it to finks doing nothing for me in game 2. I did have a good match against them so thats what matters.
Rnd 2 I faced Affinity and went 2-0. I dont think i am favored versus affinity but i think it can be a swingy match that can go in my favor. My creatures are already bigger than most of there creatures and i have reach with pumps spells. The only issue i have is cant do much against the flyers in there deck but i can and did force my opponent to be on the defensive. He had to be because he smelled the pump spells i ended up using to defeat him.
Rnd 3 I faced Temur Card Collection A LA Fabiano and went 2-0. The G-Fabs list was basically copied by my buddy. He really likes the build and with Engineering Explosive he can totally hose me but he never saw any. He just had some bad draws and i was drawing hot tonight.
Rnd 4 I faced a interesting Esper Mill deck and went 2-0. This deck was interesting, it also beats you down with shadows and phantasms. I play fetches and i had to basically play around Archive Trap, by not fetching after getting pathed. I pushed in for a lot of damage with Aspect of Hydra,
Top 4 I faced against G/B Tron and it was rough 2-1 victory for me. I am not sure why but my opponent on game 3 just had non-interactive hand with early green sources. It was fast enough and just swung for some nastyness. Game 1 went typical tron, but no karns just wurmcoils and O=Stones. Game 2 went typical stomp, big beef and big pumps.
