I know that even if you have Burning Earth in your hand, you can decide if you play it or not, but i don't think you would want to have it in your deck since there are no other ways for you to get mana except from your lands and all of the are nonbasic which will really kill you.

I think Whispering Madness is better than maybeboard here. Makes them draw cards, helps you find Fate Unraveler .

I have a modern deck that wants opponents to draw cards as well. The everybody dumps there hands and draws is probably the best way to do it. Not only does it make your opponent draw, but it nullifies any card advantage you may have given them. My deck uses Jace's Archivist but it is the same principle here.
