Will playing another Emrakul re-trigger spawn ability

Asked by Slate_decesare 1 year ago

My friend made an eldrazi deck with both Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Emrakul, the Promised End. With the wording on the spawn ability. It refers to just "Emrakul" instead of the cards full name. Say Emrakul, the Aeons Torn was in play already, would playing Emrakul, the Promised End after re-trigger the spawn ability of Aeons torn? Or would this rule from the comprehensive rules (pasted below) apply to that with the vague card naming on the ability?

201.4. Text that refers to the object it's on by name means just that particular object and not any other objects with that name, regardless of any name changes caused by game effects.

Thanks in advance for any help provided!

Rule 201.4 would apply. When any card references its name, it can be changed to say "this card" (Like Aeons does). So Emrakul, Promised End would say "When you cast this spell", thus only triggering when you cast it and not when you cast other Emrakuls.
