What happens to Kiki-Jiki and Woodfall Primus?

Asked by MountainMan817 6 years ago

Say I have a Woodfall Primus in play. I resolve a Kiki-Jiki and proceed to copy Primus. I pop one of their permanents, swing for 6, end my turn... I sacrifice the TOKEN PRIMUS, which has Persist... what is the outcome for that token?

The persist ability triggers. Before the ability can be put on the stack, state based actions are checked and the token in the graveyard ceases to exist. The Persist ability now goes on the stack. Assuming nobody responds, the persist ability resolves and doesn't do anything for the following reasons:

The object it references (the token) is no longer in the graveyard
If a token that has left the battlefield would change zones, it instead remains in the zone it was put into when it left the battlefield.
