threaten and blink interaction?

if I Act of Treason a creature and Cloudshift it what happens?

  1. do I retain control of the creature indefinitely

  2. does the creature return to its owner and end of turn

When an object leaves and reenters the battlefield, it is considered a completely new object. Because Cloudshift s effect states that it enters under your control, it will remain under your control because it no longer has the delayed trigger generated by Act of Treason .

There is no delayed trigger, but you're mostly correct.

With Act of Treason on the stack targeting a creature, you can Cloudshift that creature. It will leave play and re-enter as if it were a new object that had never been on the battlefield before.

This means that the creature Act of Treason is targeting has left the battlefield and is no longer a valid target. The spell will fizzle (be countered by game rules) upon resolution, because a spell with targets must have at least 1 valid target to resolve.

I think the question is that Act of Treason has already resolved. He's wondering if cloudshifting it makes him keep indefinitely. Which you would until it was killed or otherwise removed from play. Interesting idea btw.

This doesn't really have to do with answering the question, it is more expounding upon the idea that you presented and because I have a friend who does this. Since we have established that you do indeed get to keep the creatures it is worth noting that Ink-Treader Nephilim has a nice interaction with Act of Treason -> Cloudshift to take and keep all the creatures.
