This creature can't be sacrificed + Parasitic Implant. What happens?

Asked by Py_o 1 year ago

So I'm building a Jon Irenicus, Shattered One deck. What I'm concerned with is " "This creature can't be sacrificed." " So my thought is : Enchant a creature that can't be sacrificed with Parasitic Implant. My question: 1. Will the creature keep trying to sacrifice itself and create a game ending/drawing loop? or 2. Will the creature fail to sacrifice itself and produce a 1/1 each turn? or 3. Will the creature fail to sacrifice itself and therefore I don't get a 1/1?

You will get one Myr on each of your upkeeps.

Triggered abilities that trigger at the beginning of a step or phase trigger once, at the beginning of that step or phase. Parasitic Implant doesn't say "if they do" and if part of a spell or ability is impossible, the spell or ability does as much as it can. The player will not be able to sacrifice the creature, but you will create a Myr.
