Teferi's Veil + Blade of Selves
Asked by hosshughes 9 years ago
2 part question:I was playtesting my Braids deck when this situation came up. I'm thinking I get to stack the end of combat effects to preserve my tokens. Is this correct?
Let's say those tokens are still there at my next combat but someone has since gotten rid of my veil. Are the tokens created in the first combat still "exilable" after the second combat? Since phasing is bringing the same creature back (unlike exiling which creates a new creature), I'm thinking they would go bye bye after second combat.

Yeah, tokens also cease to exist if phase out. Just like they do for being in any zone except the battlefield (this is in addition to the fact that they won't trigger Teferi's Veil).
110.5f A token thats phased out, or thats in a zone other than the battlefield, ceases to exist. This is a state-based action; see rule 704. (Note that if a token changes zones, applicable triggered abilities will trigger before the token ceases to exist.)

Teferi's Veil will not trigger for the tokens. They were never declared attacking (they entered attacking) and will not trigger any "attacks" triggers. On another note i'm going to go look up if tokens can phase out and not cease to exist.
