Tablet of Guilds wording

My opponent plays Tablet of the Guilds , choose B&W, then plays Grave Pact . They go to gain 3 life because of the 3 B in the cmc.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t they only gain 1 life?

The “each of the chosen colors” is just referring to each of out of those two colors. So max 2 life could be gained.

You are correct. The Tablet of the Guilds doesn't care how many colored symbols there are in a casting cost, only if there is at least one of any of the chosen colors.

As a side note, Tablet also triggers if the casting cost wasn't paid--if you choose green and black, you gain 2 life from casting Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis . Even though you're paying an alternative cost, you're still casting a spell of both the chosen colors.
