Shroud and Equipping?
Asked by juliandusett 11 years ago
Can you equip artifacts (presumably equipment) to creatures with shroud? I wasn't so sure about this, and it seems as if you wouldn't but I'd like to think you can. I Just wanna know for sure...

That's why they came up w/ hexproof. Hexproof is like shroud but you can target creatures you or your partner(s) control.

Usually an ability that targets will specifically say so in the rules text of the card, but sometimes the word "target" is hidden away in the full rules text for a keyword ability. The full rules text of the Equip ability uses the word "target". Some equipment have reminder text explaining this (Kite Shield , etc.), but a card like Batterskull doesn't have room in its text box for that reminder text.

No. Equipment like Batterskull is activating an ability. Shroud creatures state they can't be targeted.
