Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood?
Asked by TheBestPony 11 years ago
If I got Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood into play at the same time and gained life, does this mean I gain an infinite amount of life and target opponent loses an infinite amount of life?

This is a combo which says "you win the game" but if your opponent has gained an "infinite" amount of life, it will continue until your opponent is at 0 life.

This combo isn't as good as Exquisite Blood and Vizkopa Guildmage , because that will kill everyone with just one extort.

Like I explained in my earlier response, this combo will still kill all of your opponents once it starts going. There's really not much of a difference between the two options.

Not really. Vizkopa Guildmage still takes 5 mana to kick off the combo overall (2 to cast and 3 to activate). Sure, you can have it on the field before that, but they get whomped or burned pretty quickly once your opponent catches on unless you can protect them.
It is way harder to counter an activated ability though.
But then back to the other side, if you've got a Vizkopa Guildmage and Exquisite Blood on the board, you've still got to do something to trigger the life loss/gain combo somehow. Plus if you play a trigger, activate the ability, and then they counter, you're out not only the cost of your trigger but also the cost of the ability, and you'll have to use another trigger and (if you can't play it this turn) reactivate the ability next turn. Rough.

If you'd just waited a couple more days, you could have been exactly 2 months late to the conversation. =P

It's not really "infinite", because the opponent will lose the game once he gets down to 0 life. If you still have another opponent left, you can target him with the next Sanguine Bond trigger and keep going. Once all your opponents are dead, the game ends and you win.
