Safe Passage vs protection from white

Asked by miel94 12 years ago

If 1 player attacks another player with a protection for white creature (such as Black Knight ) , and the defender casts Safe Passage , would it still work since the creature has protection from white?

I think it still would since safe passage dos not target the creature, but the caster himself. But want to by sure.

Safe Passage doesn't actually target anything.

Protection stops five things: damage, enchanting, equipping, blocking, and targeting by anything of the quality protected against. Safe Passage doesn't do anything that protection prevents, so it will still have effect on creatures with protection from white.

The same is true of board wipes like Wrath of God or Day of Judgment - they hit creatures with protection.

Epochalyptik basically summed it all up. Protection ( insert type/color ) won't stop global effects.
