Replication Technique + Drowner of Truth Flip?

I build a Temur ramp deck recently, and as I was playing I came upon a situation that I didn't really consider while brewing.
I have Replication Technique in hand, and a Drowned Jungle Flip on the battlefield, and I was wondering - would casting the Technique on the MDFC land would allow me to put a Drowner of Truth Flip token into play instead of the land token?
No one I was playing with had any idea, and some quick googling I did didn't give me a definitive answer.
Slight correction, the token created is double faced, and as of the recent Spiderman set, capable of transforming into Drowner of Truth Flip. As Drowned Jungle Flip doesn't have any ability on itself to transform, this is unlikely to matter, but you could theoretically use other cards to transform the token.

The token created is not double-faced. See rules 707.8 and 707.8a. A double-faced token is only created if it's a copy of a transforming double-faced card (TDFC). In addition, since Drowned Jungle Flip is a modal double-faced card (MDFC), it cannot transform or be transformed in the first place. It uses the rule in 707.8: When copying a melded permanent or other double-faced permanent, use the copiable values of the face that’s currently up to determine the characteristics of the copy.
708.8a only applies to TDFCs.

You would not. While Drowned Jungle Flip is a double-faced card, the permanent in play is Drowned Jungle itself, and that's what you'd make a copy of.
With transforming DFCs it's a little different, as the copy will be a transforming double-faced token that might be able to be flipped over by an effect, but that doesn't happen with MDFCs.
See rule 712.8f: While a modal double-faced spell is on the stack or a modal double-faced permanent is on the battlefield, it has only the characteristics of the face that’s up.
