Diabolic Tutor 's Oracle text says:
Search your library for a card and put that card into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
There is no instance of the word "target" in the text of the card, so Redirect would do nothing.
114.9b In particular, the word "you" in an objects text doesnt indicate a target.
109.5. The words "you" and "your" on an object refer to the objects controller, its would-be controller (if a player is attempting to play, cast, or activate it), or its owner (if it has no controller). For a static ability, this is the current controller of the object it's on. For an activated ability, this is the player who activated the ability. For a triggered ability, this is the controller of the object when the ability triggered, unless it's a delayed triggered ability. To determine the controller of a delayed triggered ability, see rules 603.7df.

however if he was to become the controler of the card somehow before it resolved he would then get to search his library insted for you searching yours

A card such as Commandeer or one similar to it would work, but Redirect would not because of the aforementioned lack of the word "Target".

It is not. Diabolic Tutor says "your library", not "target player" searches their library. If it said "target player" searches their library, then Redirect would work on it.
