Possibility Storm with Dual cards like Assault / Battery

Asked by Thundagawd 8 years ago

Trying to build a deck around Possibility Storm where all card types do similar things (Sorceries do damage, instants for counters, etc.) and it occurred to me that in Possibility Storm's tooltip, it says you may "cast that card without paying it's mana cost" upon "storming" into it, but what were to happen if I stormed into a dual card like Assault/Battery, would that mean I get to cast both halves without paying either one's mana cost?

No you don't cast the whole card. In the case of Assault/Battery you can only cast one half at a time normally so if you storm into it you can only cast one half. For instance, if you Snapcaster Mage it, you can only play one half. The same applies to cards with fuse because the fuse effect only applies to cards that you cast from your hand, not library.

Hope this helps.

Alright, that's what I wanted to know. Forgot Fuse was necessary to play both halves of cards like this, and even then, I didn't know it was restricted to playing from your hand. Thanks!
