Multiple Effects of Blood Mist

Asked by octomjbber 7 years ago

Hi, if I cast multiple copies of Blood Mist (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=414416) will it create a "Quad Strike" (or more) scenario? It should I think, as there are no rulings to state otherwise. I seen some other cards that were ruled multiple copies are redundant/have no effect. Others in my play group disagree. Please cite rules if relevant, thank you.

No it would not create a quad strike scenario, from the comprehensive rules on double strike:

702.4e Multiple instances of double strike on the same creature are redundant.

A creature cannot stack double strike. You can chose the same creature more than once but it will always do the base first strike + regular combat damage. Having multiple Blood Mist solely allows you to give a greater number of creatures double strike.

There are at most two combat damage steps in a combat phase. Adding more instances of double strike will not change that.
