MirrorWing Dragon and Inordinate Rage

Asked by Moghedien123 3 years ago

So my question relates to Mirrorwing Dragon's and how it would Interact/ combo with Inordinate Rage whereby Mirrorwing Dragon effects states that

"Whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only Mirrorwing Dragon, that player copies that spell for each other creature he or she controls that the spell could target. Each copy targets a different one of those creatures."

Now my question is that if I use Inordinate Rage on Mirrorwing Dragon, I take it that Mirrorwing Dragon's effect would not Trigger as Inordinate Rage gives a target creature +3/+2 but it also states to Scry 1 which is in turn targeting you the player as well?

I have developed a modern deck around Mirrorwing Dragon and I just wanted to check that I am correct in regards to the above interaction after picking up Inordinate Rage in the latest pre-release .

Any help appreciated :D

Thanks for your time

Kind regards

The inordinate rage spell itself is copied, which means you will receive the scry effect of inordinate rage because the entire spell is copied to target each other creature you control. As long as you control other creatures you would buff them and scry.

The scry effect doesn't target. Spells or abilities only target when they specifically use the word "target". So Inordinate Rage or Crimson Wisps would only target the creature, not the player.
