Mirror mad phantasm + phantasmal image.
Asked by Age 13 years ago
Okay so my question is, the turn after mirror mad hits the battlefield and you did your grand search for him, my plan is to just copy it with phantasmal image. Now i would shuffle phantasmal image back in, correct? and mill myself till i have no cards because i can't find a mirror mad ;), and thus WIN the game. uhhhh Thanks to that one card i forgot the name of.
This is a viable strategy?

Your strategy does work within the rules, assuming there's only one copy of Mirror-Mad Phantasm in your deck. When a card uses its name and doesn't say "a card named", then it's specifically talking about itself, otherwise it means a different card with that name. Since there aren't any cards named "Mirror-Mad Phantasm " left in the deck after shuffling in Phantasmal Image , you reveal the whole thing and drop it into the graveyard.
Laboratory Maniac is the card, but remember you don't actually win until it comes time to draw a card from that empty library (either from your draw step or an effect).

Soon you will all have hotkeys for reproducing things from the CRs.

You're looking for Laboratory Maniac .
Yes, this works. The Phantasmal Image copy of Mirror-Mad Phantasm will get shuffled back in, but since you're looking for a card named Mirror-Mad Phantasm and the card you shuffled in is a Phantasmal Image in the library, if you have no other Mirror-Mad Phantasms you will mill yourself.
Note that you won't win until you would draw your next card.
