Mirran Crusader + Acidic Slime + Liquimetal Coating
Asked by aargh 13 years ago
My friend plays a U/W deck with a heavy dose of Mirran Crusader s, thing is I play a B/G deck that splashes some blue.. But say I have a Liquimetal Coating on the field and an Acidic Slime in the my hand.. If I make a Mirran Crusader an artifact, can I destroy it with my Acidic Slime 's ability? I think the real question here is if the the ability is a "green ability" because it's on a green card, or if it's separate from the card itself?
Thanks!

The way protection technically works in terms of targeting is that the creature can't be targeted by X spells or abilities from X sources (where X is whatever it's protected from). So because Acidic Slime's ability is an ability from a Green source, Mirran Crusader can't be targeted by it.

No it is still protection because it cannot be targeted by Acidic Slime as it is a green ability. Even as an artifact it still has the protection from green.
