Marath, Will of the Wild dealing commander damage

Asked by randomthing 11 years ago

If I remove +1/+1 counters from Marath, Will of the Wild to deal damage to a player directly does that count for commander damage? In addition to that, if I have cards such as Warstorm Surge or AEther Charge on the field, when I play Marath, Will of the Wild does the damage dealt considered commander damage?

Commander damage is for combat damage only, so you aren't dealing commander damage in either of those scenarios.

In addition to the normal Magic loss conditions, if a player is dealt 21 points of combat damage from a single commander over the course of the game, that player loses the game!
