Kurkesh with abilities sacking an artifact?

Asked by Player4our 10 years ago

I'm making a Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient EDH deck and I'm not sure on some of the rulings. For example, let's say I have Shrine of Burning Rage at 11 counters. I activate it then copy it with Kurkesh, does it do double the damage or just 11 because the ability requires the shrine to be sacrificed?

It'll do double. Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient creates a copy of the ability on the stack. You don't need to pay the cost of activating the ability again.

Maybe I should rephrase my answer: Kurkesh will copy the ability of Shrine of Burning Rage , creating another copy of it on the stack. You can choose a new target for the copy, it doesn't have to target the same object as the original.
