Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge Question
Asked by Vorinclex2497 10 years ago
So with Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge 's last ability to play instants or sorceries without paying there mana cost... couldn't you attack with her, then play Comet Storm kicking an infinite number of times and kill 2 opponents? someone let me know if that is not correct.

First, rules questions should be asked in the Q&A, which is linked in the header. I can't convert this to a Q&A thread, so it's getting moved to BE.
Second, no. You cast the spell without paying its mana cost. Any time you do this, any X values in the spell's mana cost default to 0. You will also still have to pay additional or increased costs. Your Comet Storm would deal 0 damage, and you could pay the multikicker any number of times to target additional creatures or players.

Rules questions should be asked in the Q&A in the top bar.
When you are allowed to cast a spell without paying its mana cost this means a few things.
If there is an X in its mana cost it will be 0.
You still have to pay any additional costs. Ex. Sacrificing a creature for Natural Order
You may pay additional costs such as kicker or multikicker.

No. If you played Comet Storm without paying it's mana cost, X would be 0 and you wouldn't kick it.
